Walking off the Writing Stress

This month has been quite crazy.

I’ve had new client meetings, tons of assignments, and sometimes I feel as though my poor little keyboard could just crack any minute from the repetitive weight of my fingers.

I love being a busy freelance writer, but I also recognize that taking time off every now and then is good for the body and the soul (and the Idea Factory, a.k.a. my brain!)

Yes, I have a gym membership, but sometimes I just can’t bring myself to get in the car and drive across town for a 45-minute sweat. And that’s when I grab my keys and phone and simply head outdoors for a walk.

Sometimes my husband even goes walking with me 🙂

I try to take a walk every day, and I love touring my neighborhood–breathing fresh air in the park or seeing what new shops are popping up in the business district.

And when I return home my brain is always revived and ready to sink back down at the laptop and type away with story ideas.

Exercise. It does a freelance writer’s brain good!
